Another Step...

Dear Missionaries and Friends,


Another step in approving the Church as a religion was taken on July 18th. The agreement now goes to the President of the Republic of Italy for his signature, if I understand the process correctly. We’ll keep you apprised as we hear something. Thank you so very much for you faith, fasts, and prayers over these many years! The Lord has heard our requests and the good people in the various government offices in Italy have responded.

We will need to continue our prayers until everything is finalized and in the meantime we need to be sure we say thank you. Thanking Heavenly Father for His help in this, and the work throughout Italy, is one of the surest ways to have His help in the future. We should also ask him to bless all those who have been in the forefront of helping us gain this official status. It is fitting to remember a portion of Elder Lorenzo Snow’s dedicatory prayer for Italy at this time and in this regard: “Whomsoever among this people shall employ his influence, riches or learning to promote the establishment of Thy Gospel in these nations, may he be crowned with honors in this world, and in the world to come crowned with eternal life.” I am sure we all hope that such blessings will be showered upon Senators Lucio Malan and Stefano Ceccanti, who sponsored the legislation and were then assisted by numerous other dedicated public servants.

May the Lord be with you always - and remember that you are always in our prayers.

Cari Missionari e Amici;

Un altro passo importante nel processo di affermare la Chiesa di Gesu’ Cristo dei Santi degli Ultimi Giorni come religione e’ stato fatto il 18 Luglio di quest’anno nel Senato della Repubblica. Quest’Intesa adesso va al Presidente della Repubblica per la sua firma se capisco bene il processo. Vi teremo informati sugli ulteriori passi appena che ne veniamo a conoscere. Grazie tantissime per la vostra fede, digiuni, e preghiere durante tutti questi anni. Il Nostro Padre Celeste ci ha sentito e le persone buone e dedicate nei vari uffici del governo hanno agito a nostro favore.

Dobbiamo continuare a pregare fin’quando tutto sia approvato ma nel fratempo e’ tempo di ringraziare Padre Celeste. Ringraziare Padre Celeste per questo, e in verita’ per tutto il Suo aiuto attraverso l’Italia, e’ uno dei modi piu’ efficace aver il Suo aiuto nel future. Dovremo anche chiederLo di benedire tutti quelli di buon cuore che ci hanno aiutati in questo processo. E’ giusto ricordare una parte della preghiera dedicatoria e ispirata di Anziano Lorenzo Snow fatto in 1850 in Italia e per l’Italia: “Qualunque persona fra questo popolo che utilizi la sua influenza, ricchezze, o conoscenza a promuovere lo stabilimento del Tuo Vangelo in queste nazioni, possa lui essere coronato con onori in questo mondo, e nel mondo a venire essere coronato con la vita eternal.” (Perdonatemi per la traduzione – quello di Anziano Snow in Inglese e’ davvero bello leggere.) Sono sicuro che possiamo sperare che tali benedizioni riversono su Senatore Lucio Malan e Senatore Stefano Ceccanti che hanno sponsorizato la richiesta ufficiale insieme ai tanti altri persone dedicati alla liberta’ e alla constituzione della Repubblica che hanno partecipato.

Possa il Signore starvi sempre vicino – e ricordatevi che rimanete sempre nelle nostre preghiere. Presidente e Sorella Pacini
